Snow Spirit, Remnant of Snow, commonly known as Snow Wool Spirit, is an instanced boss in Region 1. It can be fought with 1-8 players. The fight is essentially a parody of False Spirit, Remnant of Olive, the final boss of the Fallen Forum.

To unlock Snow Spirit, players must complete the Snow Man Left Behind quest, starting in Sierhaven at Selholly Sprignos, found in the Snowman Embassy.

The Snow Spirit lobby can be accessed by talking to Colder at the bar in Nyr. In order to fight Snow Spirit, 6 Essence of Winter are required to purchase a key.

Boss Fight

The Snow Spirit is a blaze. It does not move around the arena. It can only move up and down. Snow Spirit initially fights alone. It has four possible attacks, used throughout the entire fight while not invincible, as well as a fifth attack only used in the final phase. The fight has four phases. At 75%, 50%, and 25% HP, the boss will become invincible and summon minibosses. Killing these minibosses will advance the fight.

Phases

Phase 1

Snow Spirit will stand in the middle, immune to all kinds of knockback. It will use one of its four possible attacks. At 75% HP Snow Spirit becomes immune to damage and summons the first miniboss - Ghost of Holiday's Past. Killing it will advance the fight forward.

Phase 2

At 50% HP, Snow Spirit will become invincible again, and summon 2 minibosses - Ghost of Holiday's Past, and Ghost of Holiday's Present. Killing them advances the fight.

Phase 3

At 25% HP, Snow Spirit will become invincible again, and summon 3 minibosses - Ghost of Holiday's Past, Ghost of Holiday's Present, and Ghost of Holiday's Future. Killing them advances the fight.

Phase 4

Snow Spirit gains a new attack, Shining Star. When killed, Snow Spirit will display a short death animation where many Shining Star missiles are fired quickly, and the fight will end. The player can still die to the missiles after Snow Spirit's death.

Snow Spirit Attacks

Jolly Ball

Snow Spirit will emit angry particles, and shoot a slow homing missile of green and red particles at the player. (This attack is not considered a projectile, and cannot be blocked by Rogue's Dodging ability.) This is the only attack Snow Spirit will cast while Ghosts are alive.

Summon Elves

Snow Spirit summons a bunch of Holiday Elves (zombies). They're fairly slow.

Deck the Halls

Snow Spirit uses a multi-slash attack copied from False Spirit's "Triplicate Slash". Many white "swipe" particles will appear on the ground near the boss, and any players within the particles after about a second will take damage and knockback. The attack will repeat 3 times.

Slowing Charge

Snow Spirit "charges up" with blue particles. If players are within a 3-5 block radius of it when the particles reach the center, they get knocked back and slowed down, as well as being given minor damage over time and being unable to jump for a few seconds.

Shining Star

Snow Spirit flies upward, becoming immune to damage and glowing red, and begins to shoot out missiles in random directions. (Unlike Jolly Ball, this attack IS considered a projectile, and so can be Dodged by rogues.) This attack is only cast during Phase 4.

Minibosses

Ghost of Holiday's Past

A slow iron golem, low health, moves fast dealing low damage, has 1 ability:

  • Charge - indicated by gray particles, quickly moves forward dealing damage to players unlucky enough to get in the way.

Ghost of Holiday's Present

Large magma cube with medium health, moves slowly but hits hard, has 2 abilities:

  • Slam - Jumps high up and lands near a player, dealing massive damage in a small area around itself.
  • Charge Beam - Charges a beam of white particles for few seconds. If the player doesn't block or break line of sight, they take heavy damage. This attack breaks shields for about 5 seconds.

Ghost of Holiday's Future

Low health, moves fast and deals very low damage by itself, it will run away from the player most of the time. By far the hardest one to deal with due to its 2 abilities:

  • Summon Coals - Summons about eight baby zombies wearing a coal block on their head. They are fast but deal minor damage. However, killing them heals Ghost of Holiday's Future. Kill the ghost first.
  • Snapping Jaws - Default Evoker attack, deals minor damage.

Loot

Defeating Snow Wool Spirit will reward players with loot crate named "Snow Spirit Spoils" and 2 ice diamonds. Snow Spirit Spoils will contain, at random, the following:

  • 1-5 random Red, Yellow, Green, or Blue ornaments
  • 10-20 snow blocks
  • Spirit of the Holidays (25% chance), a currency used to give Christmas-themed skins to some items
  • Jingle Bells (2% chance), a joke item that can be right clicked repeatedly to play "Jingle Bells" one note at a time
  • 1 Purple Ornament (0.4% chance)[1]

One Purple Ornament, or 16 ornaments of any other color, can be exchanged for one Spirit of the Holidays at Colder in the lobby.

Tips and Advice

  • Classes with a lot of AOE attacks, especially Shaman, should think carefully when to cast them, to avoid killing Future's minions.
  • Future cannot summon its minions if no player is within 8 or less blocks of it. Shooting it down is very effective.
  • Jolly Ball's homing is rather weak, but it can follow a player for longer than you might expect.
  • Holiday Elves (especially in solo fight) can stack up really quick, so don't ignore them. (Note: This may actually be bad advice? During my solo runs, it seemed like there was a cap on how many elves could appear, but killing them would cause the boss to summon more, leaving you back where you started. Needs checking. -Chroma)
  • The player is not given resistance during the death animation of Snow Spirit, so dying at that point is possible.

Advancements

  • Snow Spirit (Solo)

Earned after defeating Snow Wool Spirit solo.
