The citadel is cursed. Even before the arrival of the witch, something sinister has set its gaze upon our Lord's holy empire. No matter where you go you can feel it in the air. In the shadows of trees, behind the walls of shelters, even deep underground. I can't escape this feeling of being watched.
Some days I wake with sweat dripping from my orehead. Is it that same nightmare each time? It must be. I seek to hold on to it but when my eyes open, the threads of the dream escape my grasp.
All I remember is the moon, ringed by a dark corona. There is something there. Crawling upon it. Soon it would... crack... like an egg. Like a shell! Something inside would stir then...
I awake. Every time. Something here I cannot hold on to. This cannot be a coincidence, these dreams and this feeling of oppression settling over this fortress. Many others have felt it. Fathers, sons, grandfathers. They feel the same gaze.
I won't halt my prayers this night. My faith is unwavering.
Please, Lord Emperor. Return to us. Please O Architect. Send your servant back so we may be safe from the gaze from beyond.
