Gyrhaeddant, the Nucleus, is a boss fought in the Darkest Depths. It is fought on the 3rd floor of the dungeon, or every 3rd floor in the endless mode.

Summoning

Gyrhaeddant is found in the 10th room of every 3rd floor of the Darkest Depths dungeon, which will always be a large circular room with a massive sphere in the center of the ceiling. Pressing the button in the center of the arena will teleport all players in the instance into the arena and play a dripping sound effect for a few seconds before initiating the boss fight.

Boss Fight

The boss is an invisible, glowing magma cube floating in the middle of the arena.

Eyes Open, Doorways Close: Gyrhaeddant is unable to be damaged normally. Instead, during the fight, ‘eyes’ will periodically spawn in the upper sections of the arena. They glow and are accompanied by a loud breaking sound and the text ‘Eyes open. Doorways close.’ when they spawn. Three eyes spawn each time. After four eyes in total are defeated, Gyrhaeddant (a glowing, invisible, immobile magma cube) spawns at the center of the arena, and can be damaged. It falls under Slayer as its weakness. It disappears after X amount of time has passed (around 15-20s), or if it falls below a certain health threshold (around 60% and 30% respectively). When it hits these health thresholds, it enters the next phase (Phase 2 at 60% and Phase 3 at 30%). It gains new abilities as phases pass.

Summon Enemies: Gyrhaeddant spawns enemies throughout the fight. These consist of basic enemies from Floor 3 (Alanrinkiri, Eldritch Hunter pillagers, and Eldritch Spawn zombies). Two unique elites are also summoned- a skeleton which launches TNT and a melee enemy with Block Break and a nova-esque ability.

Surrounding Death: Rapid stomping noises play and purple particles appear on the outermost ring of the arena. After a brief period, the particles disappear and any player on top of them takes large damage and is knocked upwards. Purple particles will continue to move inward towards the nucleus an additional three times, for a total of four rings. Used in all phases.

Boiling Water: Text informing the player of the upper water boiling appears in chat, and blaze fireball noises play. After a short period, any player not on the floor level of the arena takes large damage.

Freezing Water: Text informing the player of the lower water freezing appears while splashing noises play. After a short period, any player not at least one block above the floor level takes large damage and is briefly rooted

Shatter: Loud noises play and blue warped wart blocks telegraph this attack in three cones around the center of the arena. After a brief moment, any player on these blue blocks takes large damage, is knocked upward, and is made unable to heal for 6 seconds. Used after Phase 2 begins. Highly similar to Eldrask’s own Shatter.

Demise: Large rings of fire particles appear on the floor, mainly on the arena’s outer edge. After a short period, a meteor will crash down on these, damaging any player inside it. Used after Phase 3 begins. Similar to Kaul’s Volcanic Demise, but with larger, better-telegraphed AOE and lower damage.
