82 AV- or rather, 807 CCE. I've made my return to the tundra I call home. My time in the King's Valley was wonderful, but I couldn't bear to be away from home any longer. Nor can I bear being away from Arian... I could see the pain in his eyes when I told him I wanted to return home.

I was met this morning with the most spectacular news. I'm being promoted to Head of Intercontinental Intelligence! Rightfully so, if I do say so myself. King Oliver Obregson himself recommended me for the position- he said my work in the Valley analyzing the geopolitics between the Narsens and the native Tlaxan people was unlike anything he had seen by others in my field. However, despite the praise, it still serves to remind me of Arian once more. Perhaps I may use my new position to set up a meeting back in the Valley...

It's been months since my transfer to a new location. They claimed it would be more fitting for my new role, but it appears to be a medium-sized fortress near the coast. For safety, they assured, but I feel this was just a bit excessive. Still, I get my own private study above the clanking of boots and swords down below. Bandits would not dare to attempt an attack. They will not even try to go after the caravans that bring us supplies- they're content going after those who cannot afford more than a single caravan guard. Although the Chillwind is my home, and I do love it so, the greed of the nobles leading to such banditry in the first place does not go beneath my notice. It is a blemish on this otherwise beautiful land. I've heard the town of Nightroost has recently been facing beastly attacks more often, and the Crown spares no help.

It's been nearly 2 years, but it's happening! A meeting is to be held in the town of Farr to go over the past 3 years of events in the Valley. My sources have told me of a growing conflict between a Tlaxan group known as the Sons of the Forest, and the Narsens. To be frank, I'm not surprised something like this hasn't happened earlier. Regardless, Arian is to attend that meeting. I hope he forgives me for leaving like I did. It wasn't his fault- the homesickness became too much to handle. I will only be gone for a few days, hence I will leave this journal here until my return. The ship down at the landing zone is scheduled to leave shortly, so I must be off! I don't want to leave Arian waiting.

Clear as glass,
