The Grasp of Avarice is 1 of the 8 Wool Dungeons in the Celsian Isles. It is home to the purple wool, the last wool required to complete the monument in the Celsian Isles.

Lore

"Deep below the island that was considered nothing more than myth, the sins of those who seek only the treasures of the world lie. Here, in these shoals of tragedy, the greedy pirates rage on many centuries after their death. Consumed by their lust for the greatest treasure, they lose themselves to its power. In this place, only it has true control, as it feeds on the emotions of those it has ensnared. But, what here is truly real? Are your senses able to be trusted? Or will you become lost as your mind manifests before you? Overcome it, or you will be a victim to your own Emotions."

Layout

The first area is a large open cavern with shipwrecks scattered around. Two "Pieces of Hate" are hidden under X's that can be located via the treasure map given in the spawn area. Once the two pieces are gathered, the player must then go into a tunnel indicated by a whirlpool, leading to a shrine with a teleport back to the beginning. Placing the two pieces into the shrine will open the next area.

The entrance to the next section is another hidden whirlpool located by a treasure map next to the shrine. This tunnel will lead to a temple with a two-way teleporter. The temple consists of two doorways, blue and orange. The player may choose which to open first, but the other will remain locked until the first is completed. Completing both will unlock the final section.

The blue path is a large museum-like area. Ghost-Captain Varcosa serves as a boss for this section and will randomly attack the player until defeated. 4 statues stand in the center room, and each will turn into a mini-boss when approached. Behind a large painting of a ship leads the path to the end of the blue section.

The orange path consists of hallways that will teleport players to different sections to either create loops or lead to separate "areas". One room is a large cylindrical room with void. Dropping into the void will not kill the player, but rather teleport them to the top of a different version of the room, allowing more exploration paths. The end of the section can be found beyond the mirror of a dressing room in the backstage.

Once both paths are completed, the next section is opened at the entrance to the temple. It will lead down some stairs into a room with a large mural. Going through the mural will lead to a large open garden with a lake. Entering the lake will complete the dungeon.
