Kaul, Loci of the Jungle

Genius Loci are protective spirits that embody areas of land, and are seen frequently across Monumenta, especially in the King's Valley. They are born when an area is made "home" or becomes important.

Lore

Kaul is the Genius Loci who watched over the Yellow Wool, and the presence of this Wool gave him the power to become to sole Loci of the jungle and push away the other Loci. The wool was taken from him by the Player eventually, which angered him. He dreamt up the Malevolent Reverie, which the player destroyed, and then he woke to fight the player himself. After losing this battle, he returned to sleep and the Jungle became peaceful once more.

Ekah is the Loci of the Jaguartooth Mountains. He is hidden away in Ta'Ksaav, behind 5 keys. According to him, the reason he is hidden is because he sometimes gets angry and because the Silver Knights may seek to "hold him accountable" like they did his "brethren"

Quetzalcoatl, Ixume and Myrahg were Loci who each embodied the primordial aspects of the Soul, the Body, and Pestilence. They were sealed into Wools by the Silver Knights long ago, these Wools being the White Wool, the Orange Wool, and the Magenta Wool.

Izumur is a Loci who watches over all of the Viridian Empire and its ruins. They awoke when the player took the 2 weapons taken from Tuulen's tomb by Salazar, and warned them of the consequences of using the weapons.

Anasia is a Loci who watches over the Soul Forge in Wispervale, and is known as the Mother of Faces. She has the power to change people's faces. and she used this power on a former member of the Celsian Congress named Lyson, among many others.

• Genius Loci are not a concept created by Monumenta. They originate from the Roman Empire's mythology.
• Koal, Soul of the Jingle is a reference to Kaul.
