Transmogrifier

The Transmogrifier is a special feature that lets the player convert items of the region's highest tier into Pulsating currency, and reroll Rare items. It has Region 1, Region 2 and Region 3 variants located in Highwatch, Molta and Galengarde respectively, each requiring that region's currency and items.

Transmogrifying

Inside the transmogrifier room is a pit where the player can throw in highest-tier or Rare items. (The highest tier is 5 in the first two regions, and 3 in the third.) Transmogrifying four high-tier items will reward the player with Pulsating Dust, Pulsating Powder, or Pulsating Shards in regions 1, 2, and 3 respectively. The player can also transmogrify two rares of the region to obtain a random rare from the same region. The rare obtained can be from dungeons unavailable to the player at the time. Region 2 has two rares that may only be obtained via transmogrifying, and Region 3 has four. More than one set of high-tier items can be transmogrified at once, and extra items will be converted into Pulsating Fragments for easier storage if not enough of the transmogrifier's "currency" is held to transmogrify all items. These pulsating fragments can be used at the transmogrifier at any time in the same manner as high-tier items. Note that items below the region's highest tier cannot be transmogrified.

Crystals

There is an NPC inside each transmogrifier who sells the currencies (crystals in regions 1-2, candles in region 3) required to transmogrify items. After throwing the required items into the pit, the player must press the button while holding the corresponding crystal or candle to transmogrify the items. Each region has two types of currency, one for high-tier items and one for Rares. The currency for Rares can be upgraded to the corresponding currency for high-tier items if the price difference is paid. Currencies can also be refunded. Each NPC has additional trades as well: converting certain Rare currencies into fragments that can be transmogrified as normal, and a Perfect Crystallizer attachment that can convert high-tier items into pulsating fragments (not the full currency) for quick storage without having to visit the Transmogrifier often. (Note that the Transmogrifier must still be used, and the corresponding crystal/candle bought, to convert the fragments to the corresponding pulsating currency.)
