Failure
Failure is a book written by Siershen, following the events recorded in Freedom. It can be found in his study deep in Velara, which must be visited during Scars of Magic in order to amplify the Collapsing Tower.

I do not deserve C'Zanil's forgiveness, but he has given it to me anyway. I suppose he always had a sense that I only joined the Tlaxans and his legion with my own goals in mind, but he trusted me still.
When I returned from the catastrophe at the tower last night, he was waiting for me. He knew of my secret study, he knew of my plan, and he knew he could have never seen me again had I succeeded.
A second attempt would be foolish, so I have a new goal in mind.
My incompetence has let fragments of the Bastion loose on the world, which need to be contained. C'Zanil has permitted me to depart for a time to rectify this, for which I am thankful. I cannot return until my mistake is in safer hands.
