Ephemeral Corridors
The The Ephemeral Corridors, also known as Roguelike, is a different type of dungeon from the rest in Monumenta. It is a procedurally generated dungeon with many different rooms and themes. It is unlocked by finding the entrance and solving the Roguelike Calibration Lock.
The quest Memories of Battle rewards a Practise Ephemeral Corridors Key and access to the lobby trader and practise mode of the dungeon (other modes have additional requirements). The quest Halid's Song takes place in the dungeon.
The dungeon can be run in four different modes: Practice, Standard, Endless and Fullwipe. The mode you play depends on the key you purchase.
An instance of Ephemeral Corridors has 3 floors, each themed in one of two subsets;
Subset name | Floor |
---|---|
Arachnid Caves | 1 |
Haunted Halls | 1 |
Sunken Temple | 2 |
Frozen Catacombs | 2 |
Searing Sands | 3 |
Volcanic Panic | 3 |
Follow the links in the above table to get an overview of all rooms, including chest locations.
Roguelike Structure
Ephemeral Corridor rooms and floors are generated "procedurally" as you progress through them.
Floor Structure
Each floor starts in an initial central room containing a villager trader (for food, blocks and arrows), an item repair station, a button to progress to the next room and a button to abandon your instance. It also contains four hallways to connect it to other rooms. Near the villager trader is a chest containing mapping supplies which help you navigate through the dungeon.
Upon reaching the pressure plate on a hallway, another room will be opened beyond it. Each new room also contains four hallways connecting it to other rooms. Each floor can generate up to 7 rooms. A room is conquered by destroying a "Conquer Point", which is the only Elite mob spawner in the room.
Once all 7 rooms are conquered, you can progress to the next floor. Additionally, the villager trader in the central room will have unlocked some new trades allowing you to upgrade certain items. Which items depend on floor, theme and mode.
Hallways have a 40% chance to open, 40% chance to collapse when you try to open it, and a 20% chance to have already collapsed when you find them. There is also always a door that will open until you reach the 7 room per floor limit.
Room Structure
Each room contains exactly one Conquer Point and exactly one chest. Some rooms also contain a jukebox holding an Uncommon music disc. The locations of these differ per room. The loot of the chest depends on both the mode and the floor you are in.
Each room contains four hallways connecting it to other rooms. If you assume the pressure plate for the entrance to the north lies on coordinates 0, 15, 0, then the entrances will be found at:
- North; 0, 15, 0
- East; 16, 15, 16
- South; 0, 15, 32
- West; -16, 15, 16
Modes
There are four modes in which you can play Ephemeral Corridors: Practice, Standard, Endless and Fullwipe.
Practice Mode
In Practice Mode, there is no time limit and no punishment for dying. You can also play with as many others as you like. You can however not leave the dungeon midway: if you leave the dungeon, the instance will be closed.
Standard Mode
In Standard Mode (previously known as Hardcore), there is a time limit per floor. The exact time depends on the amount of players in it. Upon death, you keep your inventory (including all loot obtained so far) but are kicked out of the dungeon. There is a maximum of three players.
Endless Mode
Endless Mode is the same as Standard Mode, except that there is no cap on the amount of floors. After completing the third floor, the dungeon will keep looping over all the floors until you die. Additionally, after completing the first three floors each new floor will add 6 delve points to the dungeon then after floor 15 every 3 floors players take 10% more damage. You can also find Persistent Parchment as loot in floors with delve points assigned.
Fullwipe Mode
Fullwipe Mode (previously known as Classic) is similar to Standard Mode: there is a time limit, there are at most three players and once you die you are out. The difference however is that there is no keep inventory, so if you die you permanently lose all your gear and loot obtained so far.

Villager Trades
Upon conquering a floor, the villager in the central room unlocks some new trades. When in Fullwipe mode, you don't need to complete the floor before the trades unlock.
Uncommon upgrades
The first set of trades upgrade certain Uncommons from the King's Valley Overworld into special Ephemeral Corridors Artifacts. Each of these artifacts can be sold for one Pulsating Dust at the trader in the dungeon lobby. The villager randomly unlocks two of the four trades per floor.

Rare upgrades
In Standard, Endless and Fullwipe Mode, the villager trades also upgrade certain Rares from King's Valley Dungeons into special Ephemeral Corridors Artifacts. Each of these artifacts can be sold for two Royal Dust at the trader in the dungeon lobby.
In Standard and Endless Mode, the villager randomly unlocks two of the four trades per floor. In Fullwipe Mode, all four trades are unlocked.
